CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL ENGINEER PROGRAM 2025-2026
The Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) program is a series of 10 seminars and workshops offered once a month on Wednesdays at the Rutgers CAIT Center. Live attendance is required for a minimum of 8 of the sessions. Missed sessions can be viewed on the program’s Wistia site, however, a maximum of 2 sessions can be viewed. All 10 sessions must be viewed or attended. The CME certificate is awarded at the conclusion of the program to licensed New Jersey Professional Engineers upon successful completion of the program. Unlicensed persons may attend the program but will only be awarded their certificate upon their successful completion of the program and the obtaining of a valid New Jersey Professional Engineering license.
Professional Development Hours (PDH’s) will not be awarded but the attendees are free to apply to the NJ Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for PDH credit. There is no test at the completion of the course and on-going certification is not required.
The Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) Program will again be offered for the 2025- 2026 cycle. The CME consists of a series of seminars and workshops devoted to municipal engineering practice. This will range from sessions that are technical in focus, some that are administrative in focus, and some that have elements of both. This is done to reflect the diversity of our profession.
